Our Story
On 24th March 2025, Windermere Golf Club members Stephanie and Tim Matthews were involved in a serious road traffic collision that left them both with multiple injuries. Stephanie’s injuries were particularly severe, including significant pelvic trauma and a broken neck and it quickly became clear she needed urgent specialist care.
The North West Air Ambulance was on scene, and thanks to the skill and quick decision-making of the crew, Stephanie was safely transported to the Major Trauma Unit at Royal Preston Hospital.
That day showed us just how vital this service is.
The North West Air Ambulance operates 365 days a year across the region, relying entirely on charitable donations to keep flying. It costs over £18 million each year to provide this life-saving service.
To give something back, we are proud to support this incredible charity. With the backing of our Captains and WAGGS,
we are hosting a Charity Golf Day at Windermere on Saturday 22nd August 2026 to help raise vital funds.
